TIMUR has made solo appearances with LA Philharmonic, Bang on a Can All-Stars, Opera Boston, Sarasota Opera, Spoleto Festival, Santa Cecilia Academy, Hungarian National Symphony and DeVotchKa, among many others. Described as a “sybaritic delight" (NPR’s Here & Now), Timur has worked with many composers, including Thomas Adès, Evan Ziporyn, Silvano Bussotti, David R. Little, Mohammed Fairouz, Matt Marks, Anne LeBaron, the late Gian-Carlo Menotti, Peter Eötvös, Nick Urata, Charles Bernstein, Nick Urata, Joel Goldsmith and Tobias Picker. Timur and his post-punk glam band, Timur and the Dime Museum, profiled in LA Weekly’s BEST OF PEOPLE 2011, have performed on America’s Got Talent, shared the stage with Tiger Lilies, Prince Poppycock, Margaret Cho, Ann Magnuson, Mucca Pazza, and collaborated with the Klaus Nomi songwriter, Kristian Hoffman. The band debuted in New York at HERE as part of PROTOTYPE 2013 and made its European debut in 2014 at the Operadagen (Rotterdam), with a project “Collapse”, produced by Beth Morrison Projects for the Redcat Theater. On 2015 the band performed as part of the prestigious BAM 2015 Next Wave Festival.
